GEO is trading at $19.16 compared to its 52Week high of approx. $28. Is the news regarding GEO overblown? Is this an opportunity to get in or should one avoid?- 777i - 2019-04-16 20:32:53 PDT

Corrections Corp of America (CoreCivic #CXW) has been sliding for two weeks now based on all the terrible media against REITs that operate private prisons. Its dividend yield is trading at 9%, and its fundamentals are looking good. I don’t like that it cut its dividends back in Q3 2016, which I will need to research more on the why it had to cut it. However, it has been increasing their dividends since then. So this can be an interesting REIT to diversify some of the portfolio. - Kev B - 2019-07-10 23:48:44 PDT

I’m glad I got more GEO before it’s 2019 first quarter report, they called out Normalized Funds From Operations of $60.3 million, or $0.50 per diluted share, compared to $52.6 million, or $0.43 per diluted share, in the first quarter 2018. And Adjusted Funds From Operations (AFFO) of $80.3 million, or $0.67 per diluted share, compared to $69.8 million, or $0.57 per diluted share, in the first quarter 2018. The stock went up today after this news, I think it is still worth buying more because company is still undervalued, but the dividend yield is lower compared to what I got. - LLNN - 2019-04-30 11:26:53 PDT

GEO recently dropped when JPMorgan announced it would no longer finance private prisons. Not sure if it was for moral reasons or the fear that a government policy change could leave #GEO out of its main customer. I believe GEO will be around for a long time so investing on the downturn. - Kyuie - 2019-04-16 23:09:03 PDT

#Geo is dropping again today after Senator Elizabeth Warren and presidential hopeful said she wants to end the relationship between private prison operators and the government. Although the price has fallen to as low as $22 today it is till not attractive enough for me since I bought it for much lower on the previous scares. If this topic continues to be one of the talking points during the political presidential campaigns it will probably keeps dropping, then I can get more shares. - LLNN - 2019-06-21 10:42:21 PDT

But what if other large lenders follow JPMorgan, and don't want to do business with GEO? Would that not drive the cost of financing for GEO, and risk the companies returns? - Rken - 2019-04-18 21:43:28 PDT
