Mortgage REITs like #PMT and #NLY have very inconsistent dividend payment values compared to the better quality equity REITs. I like REITs that grow their dividends at a consistent rate over time, not sporadic payments. But I feel that is what we get from mREITs, sporadic payments over time.

#Pmt increased dividend back to $0.47 from $0.40 in the previous quarter.

that puts #PMT back on track to its Q1’20 dividend payment value after decreasing it to $0.25 in Q2’20. I think #PMT will keep its dividends at $0.47 for along time again (unless it drops it) but I see it hard for them to increase it based on past records. (I hope to be wrong and that it does increase).

#PMT reported a first-quarter 2020 net loss attributable to common shareholders of $600.9 million, or $5.99 per common share for the first quarter of 2020, on net investment losses of $506.5 million.

PennyMac’s Full-Year 2019 Highlights financial results: Net income attributable to common shareholders of $201.4 million, up 58% from the prior year. Diluted earnings per common share of $2.42, up 22% from the prior year. Net investment income of $488.8 million, up 39% from the prior year. For the Fourth Quarter 2019, #PMT had Net income attributable to common shareholders of $52.4 million, down from $63.8 million in the prior quarter.
