Residential Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs) can focus on acquiring, improving, developing, redeveloping, constructing, owning, leasing, and managing a diverse portfolio of residential assets. The asset can include properties such as apartment communities, on-campus housing, student housing communities, resort communities and lifestyle-oriented properties, cabins, manufactured housing ("MH") and recreational vehicle ("RV") communities, residential property complex, factory built homes, cottages, single-family and multi-family residential rental assets. Residential REITs invest in different assets types and strategy such as acquiring properties with sub-performing and nonperforming mortgages or in foreclosure sale ("REO" or "REO Properties").
