This calculation gives equal weight to each REIT stock (and its closing price change) and does not take into consideration the market capitalization size of the REIT and its weight on the REIT’s sector stock price change. Additionally, there are REITs which may have multiple types of real estate assets (e.g., Data Centers, Hotel, Industrial), so these REITs appear on our listing in various sectors. Therefore the closing stock price change of REITs which are in multiple segments will be counted and contributed to the average closing stock price change for those different sectors.
